Dry ink

I had an idea the other day while I was busy with work and responsibility, and jotted down some sloppy keywords so I could fill it out later.

But I sat still and quiet, finding that, when I happened upon them later, they no longer fit the locks.

"unexpected terms" I wrote.

"Exclamation of surprise"

I tried to think of where, when and why, but was gone like a dream upon waking. I knew it was meaningful, but the meaning dried like the ink. I let the exclamation fade without voice, and I wish want need to rediscover it.

What was that surprise that I should have been responsible for?
